The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency names phosphorus, nitrogen, ammonia and others as the worst environmental hazards in household cleaners. Worse, weed killers like Roundup have been known to cause cancer and kill bees. When these specific chemicals make their way into the water system, they can completely disrupt the ecosystem. In this unit, students learn how to make products at home that help control pests without causing damage to our planet.
Book Clubs are designed for families, and kids will work on their projects with the assistance of their parent or guardian. Groups meet in our studio locations, local libraries, and various neighborhood venues for a fun-filled hour of hands-on projects that are inspired by award-winning picture books about environmental topics.
