NATURE IN CHICAGO
Explore the great outdoors without leaving the city! In this camp, students will learn about nature and the environment by exploring the basics right here in our own Chicago neighborhood. Kids learn how to pollinate flowers, scavenge like raccoons, propagate houseplants, identify common trees in the city, and follow the life of a friendly fish who lives in the Chicago River.
Daily themes include:
City Gardeners, Urban Birding, Animal Behaviors, Pollinators and Sustainable Kids.
Field Trips:
Nature Walks
Participants must be 4 years to 7 years old when the program starts.
Did you know the average American child can identify roughly 1,000 corporate logos, but can only identify a handful of native plants and animals? We created Green Explorers Club to change those numbers. Green Explorers Club bridges literacy and science by using award winning picture books to accompany our hands-on activities that model the real world. We help kids explore far-away ecosystems, start their own gardens, protect our oceans, learn about climate change, discover famous environmentalists, and become experts themselves using life science, outdoor shoes, busy hands, and some imagination. We empower our students with the knowledge, curiosity, and basic skills they will need to one day change the world.
Please contact Green Explorers Club if you have any questions.
