Camp Policies
Registration, Payment and Cancellation
- Registration: Please use our registration platform on our website to register your child for camp. If you have any questions about registration, please give us a call at (312) 520-7500. We are happy to offer a 5% discount for siblings who registered at the same time and for the same week of camp. Please make sure to register both children at the same time, as we are unable to retroactively apply the discount.
- Cancellation and Refund: Payment for camp is due in full at registration. Prior to May 1st, we are happy to provide a full refund. After April 30th, 2024, we will only provide a 50% refund of the registration price no matter the reason – sickness, death in the family, change of plans etc. We are a small business and use the camp funds to pre-purchase supplies and reserve staffing. The only time a refund is provided is in the event Green Explorers Club needs to cancel camp. In this case a full refund of the registration price will be provided to the customer.
- Transfers, Make-Ups and Sick Days: While we cannot offer refunds for summer camp after May 1st, we are happy to transfer your space to another child provided he or she meets age requirements. In order to make the transfer, we require at least one week’s notice. In the event your child is sick, we will do our best to accommodate a make-up day if we have a space available. We are unable to provide refunds for sick or missed days of camp regardless of the reason.
- Waitlist: If a camp you’re interested in is full, you may add your child(ren) to the waitlist. If and when spots open up, we will move the through the waitlist in the order of who joined first.

Field Trip Permission
Green Explorers Club is excited to get outside and take a hands-on approach to learning about nature and sustainability! During some of our camps, we like to take our campers on field trips to provide a real-world experience that goes along with what we are learning in the studio. Field trip examples include, but are not limited to: nature walks in the neighborhood, riding CTA, field trips to the lake and various parks in the city. In the summer of 2024, we expect to take field trips to the Chicago Botanic Gardens (the week of June 10th) and the Lincoln Park Zoo (the week of August 5th).
By checking the box below, you agree to give Green Explorers Club permission to take your child(ren) on a guided field trip while he/she is enrolled in our camp.

- No Nut-Policy: I acknowledge and understand that Green Explorers Club has a NO NUT policy requirement for all participants. We take allergies very seriously and we ask that you please do not pack any peanuts, tree nuts, or any types of nut-related products to camp or class.
- Sickness: If your child is sick, COVID or not, please do not send them to camp. If a child is showing signs of sickness, has a fever or is vomiting while at camp we will contact you for immediate pick-up. To keep from spreading the illness, please do not send your child back to camp unless he or she is fever and symptom free, without medication, for 24 hours.
Age Restrictions
All our full day camps are open to children ages 5-10 years old. Please understand that these age guidelines are not only because of what our business license will permit, but also because we want to ensure that all children can participate in our activities without a lot of hands-on help.
While we understand younger siblings might want to participate, that your four-year old might attend full-day school or that you need to have both kids in one place, we appreciate your honesty about your child’s age. If we discover that an enrolled child is younger than five, we reserve the right to un-enroll the child without refund. We will offer our half-day camps for 4-7 year olds from 9am-12pm beginning in 2024.
